Pygmy Hippos are small and agile compared to their larger Hippo cousins. They are more adaptable too, living more extensively on land and eating a much broader diet. They are rare and worth seeing. Pygmy Hippo Works is like its name sake in that it's a small, agile firm ready to adapt to each client's unique needs.
My interest in Pygmy Hippos is entwined in a childhood memory involving my father, an engineer and National Geographic lover, with boundless curiosity and imagination. My dad had a knack for sucking you into intellectual pursuits that challenged you to see things not only for what they are, but also for what they could be both practically and creatively. He made you laugh and think. On that day, what was to be a long wait for a movie, turned into an elaborate collaborative tale of pygmy hippos, figure-eight tracks, marketing opportunities, and the reality of these short little hippos who were on the brink of extinction. I don't remember the movie we saw, but I came away with a fondness for these tiny but formidable creatures.
Before my father passed away in late 2021, he and I were discussing my consulting work and my plan to launch my company. At that point, I was still crossing off names that were either taken or didn't have meaning to me. He assured me that the right name would come to me…This one's for you, daddy.
